Lap timer & pace notes for iPhone

It calls the road before you reach it.

Clutch writes your pace notes for you. Record the road you drive, or import a route — Clutch works out every corner from the geometry, including which way it goes and how tight it is, then speaks them to you ahead of time while it times your laps from actual gate crossings. Timing, pace notes and a G meter in one app.

Drive responsibly. Clutch never suggests, displays or announces a recommended speed, and it does not encourage speeding. It is a timing and note-taking tool for track days, closed roads and private property. Always obey traffic laws and local regulations, and keep your eyes on the road.

Everything in the app

Clutch is built around one loop: prepare a route, drive it, then study exactly what happened at every corner.

Free Roam timing, anywhere

No track required. Start driving and get live timing, speed, distance and a G reading on any road — permanently free, never counted, never gated.

Record a track, or import one

Drive the route once to record it, or import KML / GPX from Files, Mail, iCloud Drive or any app that can share a file. You can also just paste coordinates as text.

Corner analysis & route preview

No hand-written notes. From the recorded or imported geometry Clutch finds every corner for you — which way it goes, how tight it is, and how far it is from the next one. See them all on the map and in a list, then rehearse the whole route or play a single callout.

Voice pace notes, spoken ahead

During a run Clutch speaks each corner before you reach it, so you can look through the corner instead of at a screen. Notes are generated from your own route geometry.

Lap timing that starts on the line

Timing begins on a measured start-gate crossing, not on a button press — so your lap time reflects the lap, not your thumb. Laps, best lap and segment (point-to-point) timing included.

G meter, altitude, sound level

A friction-circle G meter with 1.5 / 3 / 5 / 8 G ranges and reference rings, altitude and heading, and a live microphone sound-level meter. Free, all of it.

0–100 & braking tests

Measure acceleration runs and braking distance with the same GPS engine that times your laps. A straight, repeatable measuring stick for the car itself.

Corner-by-corner review

After a run: speed and G at every corner, a speed chart, a G chart, a colour-coded trace on the map, and a replay you can scrub through.

History, export & share cards

Every run is kept on your phone. Export your data as a file you own, or turn a lap into a share card image.

Wet & dry comparison

Same track, different conditions — compare a surface you have driven before against today, so you can see what the weather actually cost you.

English & 简体中文

The interface speaks English and Simplified Chinese. English is the default.

Nothing leaves your phone

No cloud, no account, no ads, no analytics and no third-party SDK. Your routes, runs and measurements stay on the device, and you can delete them at any time.

Free vs Pro

The parts you need to decide whether Clutch is worth it are free, permanently — including the corner analysis and route preview. Pro is a single one-time purchase: it unlocks unlimited timed runs and tests. There is no subscription, now or later.

$29.99 one-time. Not a subscription, and it does not renew. Family Sharing is supported. A free run is only counted once the run has actually finished and at least three pace notes were announced — opening a run and closing it again costs you nothing.

How it works

1. Tap Tracks and record the route you drive, or import a KML / GPX file. 2. Check the corner list and rehearse the route indoors. 3. On the road, open Drive, pick the track and arm at the start gate. 4. After the run, open Review for corner speeds, the charts and the replay.
